 Our history:
In order to perfect disaster prevention and rescue system of our country, the central government established National Fire Agency, Ministry of the Interior in 1995, this county, for the purpose to get combined with the overall disaster prevention and rescue system, conforming to Organic Code of Fire Bureau of Counties and Cities of Taiwan, started preparing organic code and personnel quota of this Fire Bureau in May 1998, this code was submitted to the county council for review after approved by the county affairs meeting, finally, it was past through “three reads ”in the county council held on May 26 of the same year and sent to Examination Yuan for recordation.
Thus, this Fire Bureau was established officially on the first day of July 1st, 1998 when inaugural ceremony of the first general director was also held. This Fire Bureau was the first one in all counties of Taiwan. As to human resources, this Bureau was named after fire prevention team of the county police station with 118 persons, our strength reached to 329 persons upon establishment of this Fire Bureau. However, such strength was reduced to 236 persons by fiscal year 2005, though we are shortage of manpower, owing to command of the head of county and support from officials of all levels, everyone of this Fire Bureau has been contributed to fire prevention. We believe that we are able to will protect life and property of all citizen of this county with support for all walks of life.

The first general director of Hsinchu County Fire Bureau on July 1st, 1998
Since establishment on July 1st, 1998, owing to supports from all leaders as well as the county council, this Bureau has made great achievement in disaster research and rescue.
As a matter of fact, what disaster research and rescue mostly demand, except for complete laws and regulations, are the cooperation and support from all citizens. We can not only rely on the limited fire prevention personnel and resources but on the government’s recognition and common knowledge of all citizens, because we can get twice the result with half the effort from strength of all citizens, therefore, it is vital to keep publicizing concept of fire prevention, particularly educating primary and secondary school students the concept of fire prevention, thus, we will keep training all citizens in disaster prevention and establishing and perfecting disaster prevention system so as to build up an advanced early-warning system to fight against any contingency and to complete rebuilding after disaster.
Fire prevention is a job requiring for sacrifice and contribution without returns, so, everyone who wishes to be a excellent fire fighter must be endowed with following characters:

Along with establishment of digital signature and electric authentication system, the government shall, under the environment of safe and reliable E-government, provide a convenient online enquiry and communication for all citizens as well as paperless application, for example, online reserve, online tax declaration and online payment. We believe that Internet shall become one of important tools after Tel and Fax for all citizens to communicate with the government, thus, it isn’t necessary for citizens to go to the governmental agencies so often as before, in return, the government shall also cut its costs for preparing documents and all types of licenses, therefore, all citizens shall, in the near future, be able to know what is happening everyday in the world as well as to transact and apply for anything in the governmental agencies.
